Fiber Engineer I & II / Fiber Splicer (Full-Time, Moneta, VA)
About the Role:
ZiTEL is hiring Fiber Engineers I & II to join our team. This position is perfect for individuals looking to advance their careers in fiber-optic installation, troubleshooting, and networking. As part of our engineering team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive high-quality internet service.
Key Responsibilities:
Splice fiber optic cables and conduct fiber testing with ODTR meters.
Install and repair fiber internet services for residential and business customers.
Configure digital home and business networking and WiFi services.
Operate and maintain tools and equipment for fieldwork.
Adhere to safety standards, including OSHA and VDOT regulations.
Participate in on-call rotations and occasional weekend work.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required; technical training preferred.
3 to 5 years of experience in fiber splicing, IT, cable TV, or utility installation.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including climbing, working in tight spaces, and lifting heavy materials.
Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
Vibratory Plow Operator / Crew Lead Operator (Full-Time, Moneta, VA)
About the Role:
ZiTEL is also looking for an experienced Vibratory Plow Operator / Crew Lead Operator to lead construction crews in fiber-optic installation. This position is responsible for overseeing excavation work, ensuring proper safety procedures, and managing daily operations on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily duties of the plow crew and ensure all work meets safety standards.
Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including vibratory plows, trenchers, and excavators.
Restore and landscape disturbed areas at job sites.
Open and manage Miss Utility (811) dig tickets.
Assist the Construction Manager in scheduling and planning work.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience operating a vibratory plow for utility installations.
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
CDL required with a clean driving record for up to the past 5 years.
Previous experience in utility construction required.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions.
